The Green Commute Club is a planned group feature for people who share a street, an office, a campus or a train line. It is not live yet, but you can run the challenge below with your group today and log your own days in the Daily 5 tracker.
Why do it together
Habits stick when other people are watching, cheering or doing the same thing. A group can also solve practical problems that individuals cannot: finding the best bus, setting up a bike pool or agreeing on a carpool rota.
A four-week starter plan
| Week | Group goal | Practical tip |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Everyone swaps one trip | Pick the easiest, most predictable journey. |
| 2 | Two clean trips each | Share route tips and timetables in your group chat. |
| 3 | One full clean week for volunteers | Buddy up so nobody is alone on a new route. |
| 4 | Review and celebrate | Compare what worked, keep the habits and share the lessons. |
Group etiquette
- Celebrate every clean trip, however short.
- Never shame anyone for driving; some trips genuinely need a car.
- Keep safety first: lights, helmets and well-lit routes.
- Do not share anyone's location without clear permission.
