It’s been a while since the New York Yankees and Juan Soto have parted ways. The Mets have Soto for the next 15 years, and his chances of returning to the Bronx are far gone. Despite playing for only one year, Soto captured the hearts of fans in pinstripes.
It’s still hard for some fans to digest the fact that Soto is gone to their crosstown rival. While some fans have moved on, some are still upset over his departure. Soto got along well with Yankees captain Aaron Judge. While the duo had several great moments on the team, their unique handshake celebration couldn’t go unnoticed.
Recently, a fan shared a video on X with Soto and Judge’s handshake celebration and captioned it: “On everything I love Soto and Lindor won’t have a better handshake then this.” Mets fans quickly took to social media to roast Yankees fans still cribbing about Soto leaving.
Here’s a look at some fan reactions below.
“You’re still f****ng crying? Change the tampon,” wrote one fan.
“The obsession with Soto is not healthy,” another fan wrote.
“Y’all are so weird. Time to move on man,” one fan responded.
“We talking about handshakes now ??!! lol the cope is strong a month later,” wrote one fan.
“At least Soto won’t have to carry lindor in the playoffs,” another fan chimed in.
Yankees Are Predicted To Sign Infielder Ha-Seong Kim
After the Mets signed Soto, the Bronx Bombers became a stronger team by adding key players. They went all out to sign some of the top free agents, and their market is still open. The Yanks are reportedly targeting free-agent infielder Ha-Seong Kim to bolster their lineup.
A number of teams are behind Kim, and the Yanks are among the front runners. The franchise is still looking to fill its second base position. Kim has the ability to steal bases and is a strong defensive player.
Many believe that missing out on Soto turned out to be the best for the team. Apart from Kim, Alex Bregman is predicted to sign with a team anytime soon.
