Vin Diesel, who established himself as a prominent action star with ‘The Fast and the Furious’ in 2001, has continued to be one of the most accomplished and versatile action figures of his era. He has portrayed a range of formidable characters such as Dom Toretto, Xander Cage, Richard B. Riddick, and various versions of the beloved Groot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He’s proven his ability to excel in a variety of roles. Fortunately, fans can look forward to a plethora of forthcoming Vin Diesel films that we’re eagerly anticipating.

1. ‘XXX-4’

Twenty-one years have passed since Vin Diesel first introduced the world to the outlandish and almost unbelievable version of Xander Cage in 2002’s ‘xXx.’ Although he didn’t reprise the role for the 2005 sequel led by Ice Cube, ‘XXX: State of the Union,’ Diesel did resurrect Xander for the 2017 film ‘XXX: Return of Xander Cage.’ Following the release of the third instalment, it seemed likely that Diesel would return for a fourth film. However, an ongoing legal dispute related to the franchise’s financing has complicated matters in recent years. Depending on the resolution of the lawsuit, it appears that we’ll need to exercise patience before we re-enter the world of Xander once again.

2. ‘Fast X-Part 2’

It feels like just yesterday that we were introduced to Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) teaching Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) the ins and outs of the road in 2001’s ‘The Fast and the Furious.’ However, we now find ourselves approaching what could potentially be the concluding stretch of this immensely popular franchise. The officially titled ‘Fast X Part 2’ was confirmed by Vin Diesel in early June 2023, and the sequel is slated to hit theatres in April 2025. Interestingly, it won’t be the next ‘Fast & Furious’ film we’ll see, as Dwayne Johnson’s character, Hobbs, is set to receive a standalone movie before that, although the specific release date for this project is still unknown.

3. ‘Bloodshot-2’

Vin Diesel’s R-rated comic book adaptation, ‘Bloodshot,’ released in March 2020, faced challenges as its theatrical run was abruptly curtailed at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, there are now indications of a sequel in the works. Vin Diesel is expected to reprise his role in ‘Bloodshot 2,’ as confirmed by Dan Mintz, the CEO of DMG Entertainment group. While a specific release date for the movie has not yet been announced, fans are eagerly anticipating its arrival.

4. ‘Riddick 4: Furya’

Fans of the Riddick franchise have reason to celebrate as ‘Riddick 4: Furya’ is officially in development, and Vin Diesel’s long-awaited sci-fi sequel is in the works. The previous three movies in the Riddick series, including ‘Pitch Black’ (2000), ‘The Chronicles of Riddick’ (2004), and ‘Riddick’ (2013), have garnered a dedicated fan base. The character Riddick is first introduced as a dangerous criminal being transported to an off-world prison in ‘Pitch Black.’ When the transport crash-lands on a planet infested with monsters, Riddick relies on his unique abilities to survive until daylight.

In ‘The Chronicles of Riddick,’ Vin Diesel’s character was provided with a grand narrative in which to participate, and the story of the Furyan will continue to expand with the arrival of ‘Riddick 4: Furya.’ However, the specific release date for this highly anticipated sequel is yet to be announced.
