WWE is reportedly close to finalizing the deal for SummerSlam 2024.
A new report has dropped on the likely location for WWE SummerSlam 2024.
While wrestling fans are right in the thick of things with WrestleMania season, WWE is planning ahead for another major Premium Live Event. That show is SummerSlam, which typically takes place in August, but sometimes late July. The location of the hottest summer event in wrestling has been rumored for some time.
Now, it looks like that speculation is ringing true.
WrestleVotes has reported that WWE is on the verge of reaching a deal with Cleveland Browns Stadium to host SummerSlam 2024 on August 3rd. The report noted that if the deal is finalized as expected, an announcement will be coming in April.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful previously hinted at Cleveland being the location for this year’s SummerSlam show. It has become apparent that he was onto something.
Last year’s SummerSlam event was held at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. The PLE was headlined by an Undisputed Universal Championship match between titleholder Roman Reigns and former member of The Bloodline Jey Uso. “The Tribal Chief” continued his historic reign
It also marked perhaps the final WWE appearance of Brock Lesnar. He was defeated by Cody Rhodes in the second match of the night.
Fans are wondering if it will be Cody who holds the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship going into SummerSlam 2024. He’ll be challenging Roman Reigns for the gold on night two of WrestleMania 40. Reigns has held the championship for nearly 1,300 days.
