WWE and 2K Games are set to release the latest entry into their popular video game franchise, WWE 2K24, beginning with the early release of the Deluxe and 40 Years of WrestleMania editions on Tuesday, March 5.

This year’s game has one of the deepest rosters in the history of the franchise, with every major star of today and the legendary Superstars that have helped make WWE the most prominent and successful pro wrestling company ever.

The roster is only enhanced by Tuesday’s reveal of the DLC that will be available to fans who purchase the game’s season pass, including one of the most popular competitors in the world, as well as one of the most obvious stars of the future.

The reveal of Punk’s inclusion in the game should satisfy fans worried that one of the biggest stars in professional wrestling would be excluded due to the timing of his return to WWE.

The Straight Edge Superstar took to social media before Monday night’s reveal of his involvement with the game to lobby 2K Games to give the fans what they wanted and include him in the game.

It worked.

The developers also launched a new trailer for the hotly anticipated 2K Showcase of the Immortals mode, which will allow players to relive some of the greatest and most unforgettable matches in WrestleMania history in time for the ruby anniversary of the event.

Prominently featured on the title card is The Fiend, one of four versions of the late Bray Wyatt that will be playable and/or unlockable in the game.

One of the most anticipated releases of the year, it will be interesting to see if the game can live up to lofty expectations after a 2023 production that restored faith in the property following some mediocre or downright bad releases from the franchise.

We will find out, though it cannot be argued that WWE and 2K Games are not doing enough to provide fresh Superstars to play with, modes to engross one’s self in, and different match types to create and recreate with friends, family members, and the online gaming community.
