Age ain’t nothing but a number, and rapper Remy Ma interprets hers differently than most. The “Conceited” MC recently celebrated her 43rd birthday, though she’s claiming she’s 35 years old.

Bossip reported the former Terror Squad squad member celebrated her big day with a surprise Prohibition-themed party at Casa De Lobo in Jersey City last week. During the party, she took a moment to thank the attendees.

“I appreciate all of you coming to my 35th birthday party,” she said. “I don’t f**king count the ones I was in prison, and I don’t count the ones during COVID.”

The 35-year-old received an eight-year jail sentence in 2007 for assaulting a woman with a firearm outside a New York City club. The rapper got out in 2014 after being incarcerated for six years.

Remy Ma’s husband, the rapper Papoose, planned the party and took to Instagram to show his love for his wife and her “favorite rapper,” Mase, who performed his 1997 hit “What You Want,” featuring Total, People reported.

“Surprised the Queen @remyma with 1 of her fav rappers,” he wrote in the post’s caption. “Felt good to see her genuinely surprised & happy. She’s made my born day special so many times. This was well deserved. Peace to the Harlem Legend my bro @rsvpmase Real people do real things. Peace to @roseaym @hennessy @tunecore ‘Head of Hip Hop.’”

The star-studded event attendees included Remy’s longtime BFF Fat Joe, Fabulous, Maino and more. Everyone understood the Prohibition-inspired assignment, but none better than the birthday girl and her husband. Remy sparkled in a champagne gown with a white feather boa and diamond head jewelry, while Papoose donned an all-white suit and a white hat.

According to Vibe, the party included a live performance by two burlesque dancers and an extravagant black, white, and gold three-tier cake.

Like her husband, Remy shared an Instagram post thanking those involved in her birthday party.
