San Jose Sharks forwards Macklin Celebrini and WIll Smith recreated LeBron James; viral driveway video (Source: Imagn)
Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith, young stars of the San Jose Sharks, recently recreated a funny moment from LeBron James’ viral driveway video. B/R Open Ice shared their clip on X with the caption:
“Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith are taking over San Jose and now TikTok—they recreated the viral LeBron driveway video 🤣”
In the original video posted on Jun. 9, 2022, LeBron played basketball with his sons, Bronny and Bryce, in their driveway. They laughed, took turns shooting, and finished by making three consecutive shots each. It showed the family’s love for basketball and their fun dynamic.
Celebrini acted as Bronny while Smith took on LeBron’s role. The pair tried to match the video’s lip-syncing and gestures while pretending to shoot. Smith’s exaggerated moves, including almost flipping the basketball hoop, made the recreation even funnier.
Celebrini, the Sharks’ 2024 top draft pick, is already a key player for the team. Smith, another top prospect, is his teammate and road roommate. Their off-ice chemistry is just as fun to watch as their play on the ice.
“We’re obviously good buddies,” Smith said per NHL.com, “We lean on each other if we need and talk about different stuff. Even away from the rink it’s good to have a guy the same age and kind of get away from hockey.”
Both Celebrini and Smith bring energy and humor to the Sharks.
Macklin Celebrini was named the NHL’s first Star of the Week
Earlier on Dec. 3, Macklin was named the NHL’s first star of the week.
“It’s obviously nice, but I think the bigger thing is we’re winning some games right now and we’re scoring a lot of goals as a team,” Celebrini said.
Celebrini resides with retired Sharks legend Joe Thornton’s family, while Smith stays with Patrick Marleau’s family.
Macklin Celebrini talked about playing at Rogers Arena in Vancouver.
The San Jose Sharks lost their fifth straight game, falling 4-3 to the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. Talking about playing in the city, Macklin Celebrini said, per NHL.com:
“It was exciting, a pretty packed building and in my home city, it was a cool game to play. 100 percent, it’s something I am going to remember.”
William Eklund scored first in the opening period, with Brock Boeser later tying it with a deflection. Kiefer Sherwood then put the Canucks ahead 2-1 in the second period. Elias Pettersson extended the lead by scoring twice in 44 seconds, including a 5-on-3 goal, making it 4-1. In the third period, Cody Ceci scored for the Sharks, followed by a late goal from Luke Kunin. Celebrini also recorded two assists in the game.
