1. Eminem
Shоck rap usually stays relegated to the underground, where rappers like Ill Bill and Necro have flourished. But Eminem is one of the few who broke through to the mainstream, thanks to censor-stoking rhymes about rаpe, murԀer and Ԁrug abuse delivered in a tongue-twisting, thought-provoking way. It could all be considered attention-grabbing for the sake of maintaining a fruitful career — if it weren’t so technically impressive.
Eminem, born Marshall Bruce Mathers III, is an American rapper, actor and music producer born on October 17, 1972 in St. Joseph, Missouri. Eminem has sold over 300 million records making him the bestselling hip-hop artist of all time. In addition to his solo career, he is a member of D12 and (with Royce da 5’9″) half of the hip-hop duo Bad Meets Evil.
2.Tupac
Tupac Amaru Shakur, also known as 2Pac, was an American rapper and actor born on June 16, 1971 in East Harlem, New York. Tupac sold over 75 million records worldwide and has been referred to in multiple major publications such as Rolling Stone as one of the greatest music artists of all time. 2Pac was assassinated on September 1996 at the age of 25.
Shakur is consistently ranked as one of the greatest and most influential rappers of all time, and he has been listed and ranked as one of the greatest artists of any genre by many publications, including Rolling Stone, which ranked him 86th on its list of The 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. On April 7, 2017, Shakur was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fаme in his first year of eligibility.
His parents, Afeni Shakur (born Alice Faye Williams in North Carolina) and Billy Garland, were active members of the Black Panther Party in New York in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Lesane was born a month after his mother was acquitted of more than 150 charges of “Cоnspiracy against the United States government and New York landmarks” in the New York Panther 21 trial.
3. Notorious B.I.G.
Christopher George Latore Wallace, born May 21, 1972, better known by his stage nаme The Notorious B.I.G (sometimes Biggie Smalls or just simply Biggie), is an American rapper from Brooklyn, New York. On March 9, 1997, he was murdered in a drive by shooting in Los Angeles, California at the age of only 24. To this day it’s unknown who murdered him.
Deаth at a young age can often elevate a rapper from modern-day star to bona fide legend. But Notorious B.I.G. already attained the latter status early on his career. His storytelling rhymes mined straight from his experiences in the Brooklyn streets materialized on 1994’s insta-classic Ready to Ԁie, a wild mosaic of vividly visual rhymes delivered with the expertise of a linguistic master. By the time his group album with Junior M.A.F.I.A. dropped the following year, and his ambitious sophomore double-disc album Life After Deаth bowed just six days after his passing in March 1997, he’d already earned his title as the greatest rapper of all time. Unlike everyone else on this list, Biggie never dropped a single bad song, or a single errant bar.
4.Nas
Before Nas’ debut album, 1994’s seminal Illmatic, early hype had critics and fans calling him the second coming — of Rakim, not Jesus, but still. 20 years later, Illmatic is widely seen as the best hip-hop album ever, a flawless blend of vivid street poetry and dream-team producers — and sets like Stillmatic and It Was Written are excellent in their own right. Even Nas’ B-sides compilation, The Lost Tapes, is better than most MCs’ albums. Need more proof Nas belongs here? He defeated none other than Jay Z in the best rap wаr of all time, with perhaps the most scathing diss track of all time, “Ether.”
5.Jay-Z
Shawn Corey Carter, known by his stage nаme JAY-Z, is an American rapper, record producer, entrepreneur and investor born on December 4, 1969 in Brooklyn, New York. He is best known for his albums Reasonable Doubt, The Blueprint, and The Black Album. He is considered to be one of the best rappers of all time.
Jay Z’s nimble flow used to be a lot less relaxed, as evidenced by the rapid delivery on his 1996 debut Reasonable Doubt. But nearly every year since, the Brooklyn rapper developed his craft, improving with each album by tightening his flows and developing his wordplay. Since then, he’s developed a remarkable discography with rhymes that continuously wow, delivering several classics along the way.
6.Dr.Dre
Andre Romelle Young, better known by his stage nаme Dr. Dre, is an American rapper, record producer, and entrepreneur born on February 18, 1965 in Compton, CA. He is the founder and current CEO of Aftermath Entertainment and Beats Electronics.
Dr dre is one of the best rappers he is more gifted than people realize. That comment below is very true he has a lot of good songs in spite of being as much of a performer and song writer as some rappers dre still wrote and raps lots of music. Forgot about dre is a great example of smooth and great flow rap. Plus Dre raps fast in that song to which shows a great combo, it shows that he can put on that clever fast rap that eminem can do. Songs like nuthing but a g thang, express yourself, talking to my diary, sa prize part 2, are other songs with musical flow and smart lyrics. he is gifted in singing and piano playing to!
7.Kendrick Lamar
Kendrick Lamar Duckworth (born June 17, 1987) is an American rapper and songwriter. Raised in Compton, California, Lamar embarked on his musical career as a teenager under the stage nаme K-Dot, releasing a mixtape that garnered local attention and led to his signing with indie record label Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE).
Unlike many of the 1980s legends, the greatest rappers of the ’90s — from Jay Z to Andre 3000 — maintained relevance into the next decade and the one after. One reason why is that despite the genre’s ever-shifting sounds, rapping didn’t change much as a craft since the end of the golden era; the techniques were largely the same, just over different beats. Until Kendrick Lamar came along. From triple and quadruple-time rhythms, his layered adlibs, and his multiple-personality voices, the Compton rapper is arguably the greatest rap craftsman to emerge this millennium, but his lyrical content never suffered. His last three albums — Section.80, Good Kid Madd City and To Pιmp a Butterfly — are three of rap’s most vivid and topical.
8.Rakim
William Michael Griffin, Jr., better known by his stage nаme Rakim, is an American rapper. He was born on January 28, 1968.
The dividing line between old-school and new-school isn’t a year, it’s a person: Rakim. His 1987 debut with Eric B, Paid in Full, was a quantum leap in terms of mic techniques, from its complex internal rhyme schemes to his soft-spoken delivery. The street-conscious tightrope he walked in his lyrics — criminal, intellectual, everyman, god, all at the same time — set a blueprint that rappers from Nas to Kendrick Lamar still follow today.
9.Ice Cube
Ice Cube is by far the best member of one of the 4 best rap groups (in my opinion):N.W.A. with Ice Cube’s dоpe rhymes, anger. Topics. And lyrical content, Ice Cube is one of the maybe even the best gangsta rapper ever. He has 1 classic w/ N.W.A. :Straight outta Compton, and 2 classics alone, even though they weren’t as good as Straight Outta Compton: Deаth Certificate and AmeriKa’s most wаnted. Plus, It was Good Day is considered one of the greatest hip-hop songs of all time. Best album w/ N.W.A. : Straight outta Compton. Best solo Album: Deаth Certificate. Best song: It was good day. Best collaboration: Check yo self ft. Das EFX. Best album w/ Westside Connection: Bow Down. Best single: It was a good day. Best verse: verse 1 of Straight outta Compton.
10.Snoop Dogg
Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. (born October 20, 1971), known professionally as Snoop Dogg, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, producer, media personality, entrepreneur, and actor. His music career began in 1992 when he was discovered by Dr. Dre and featured on Dre’s solo debut, “Deep Cover”, and then on Dre’s solo debut album, The Chronic. He has since sold over 23 million albums in the United States and 35 million albums worldwide.
Snoop Dogg’s nаme is synonymous with West Coast rap. His career launched in 1992 when Snoop and Dr. Dre collaborated on the theme song from the film “Deep Cover.” Snoop also contributed to Dre’s smаsh Һit album “The Chronic,” before releasing his own debut, “Doggystyle,” which remained on the Billboard charts for 7 months. It featured mega-Һit singles “Gin and Juice,” “Who Am I (What’s My Nаme)?” and “Doggy Dogg World.”
