In the latest episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show, cast and director of Amar Singh Chamkila – Diljit Dosanjh, Parineeti Chopra and Imtiaz Ali made their presence felt.
Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda came dressed as Donald Trump and King Kong. They kept everyone entertained with their hilarious act.
The cast also played Chinese whisper.
Sunil Grover came dressed in a colourful shimmer saree as Dafli and hilarity and pandemonium ensued.
She tells them, “You must be wondering why my name is Dafli. It is because I come from a musical family. We sell musical instruments.”
Sunil plays a prank on Parineeti by gifting her fake lizard and cockroach saying they are designer. Sunil also tries to sell products to Diljit and Kapil tells him, “He will buy it but send a beautiful girl first.” Sunil replies, “I am not the same person I was six years ago. Ab main ke baat chaar jawab de dungi.”
Crafting a unique tune exclusively for the CHAMKILA cast, she delivered a performance that had everyone, including Parineeti, roaring with laughter. The song proved to be a resounding success among the cast, particularly resonating with Diljit.
The entire audience started singing with them.
In the episode, Imtiaz Ali also revealed that his return to Punjab for CHAMKILA wasn’t his first brush with the region’s vibrant culture. While filming for Jab We Met, he encountered unique personalities that revealed the depth and diversity of Punjab that he may have overlooked otherwise. This experience was how the story of Chamkila was first introduced to him.
Talking about getting Parineeti on board, the director said, “If Diljit had declined this film then it would have not happened. We are very lucky and we couldn’t have had a better cast than this. Both of them. Parineeti because she is an actor, singer and the person who was ready to gain 15 kgs. It was nice.”
There were many fun-filled moments from the episode with the actors spilling the beans from the film shoot. Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda also kept everyone entertained with their hilarious antics.
