The Los Angeles Sparks star Cameron Brink has had enough of the swirling rumors linking her to Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler. The narrative is nothing new as it stems back to some time ago. While it’s obvious that she gets agitated over the linkup, the media couldn’t stop asking her the same question a hundred times.
During a recent episode of her podcast ‘Straight To Cam,’ Brink candidly addressed the exaggerated narrative that paints her formal interactions as romantic linkups. Frustrated by the constant speculation, she emphasized that the rumors began even before she was drafted into the WNBA.

“I think, like, obviously, it started, it was like a pre-draft thing. It goes all the way back to before being drafted, and it was a video of this NBA player or that NBA player. And it was always Jimmy or someone random. I think Jimmy’s hilarious. I really said that because, honestly, the photos—they would show me photos, and it was him with his emo hair. And I just think he has a great story. Yeah, I think he’s hilarious. And I just love funny people. So I was like, ‘Jimmy, Jimmy,’” Brink said on the podcast.
However, she refuted any claims of her linkup with the male NBA superstars, be it Jimmy or Kawhi Leonard.
“It’s like—what else? I talked about this on Paul’s podcast, PG’s podcast. It was about Kawhi, and it’s like people make that weird as well. So it really makes me not want to go online and read things because it just makes me so uncomfortable. I’m like, it’s not like that. Yeah, a mutual admiration, but not in that way,” the Sparks star added.
Cameron Brink is riding high these days, and her excitement over Kelsey Plum’s trade to the Los Angeles Sparks is hard to miss. Taking to her Instagram story, Brink shared her joy with a simple, yet heartfelt message: “KP my DAWG.” This brief but enthusiastic post quickly caught the attention of fans and teammates alike, as the Sparks’ social media began buzzing with anticipation over Plum’s arrival in LA.
For Plum, the move to the Sparks is especially significant, as it marks a return to her home state of California. The opportunity to reunite with former teammate Dearica Hamby only adds to the excitement. Hamby, ever the supportive teammate, also took to Instagram to welcome Plum with a touching post featuring her daughter wearing a #10 jersey, accompanied by a red heart to show her love and support.
It’s clear that the Sparks’ locker room is already embracing Plum, with fellow teammate Lexie Brown also chiming in to share her excitement. Brown highlighted her enthusiasm by sporting the Sparks’ franchise colors, further fueling the positive vibes surrounding Plum’s move.
As a two-time WNBA Champion and Olympic gold medalist, Plum’s reputation precedes her, and her addition to the Sparks roster is seen as a game-changer. Although her stats saw a slight dip last season, her experience, skill set, and leadership qualities are expected to play a pivotal role in the team’s success.
With Plum now on the squad, the Sparks have a proven winner who can mentor and support younger players like Brink and Rickea Jackson. Plum’s leadership and ability to perform at the highest levels will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the team, especially as they look to strengthen their playoff contention and build on their already talented roster. The excitement around her trade to the Sparks is palpable, and it’s clear that this reunion is just the beginning of something special for the team
