The Los Angeles Lakers management never has to worry about any of their harsh decisions. Of course, if something goes wrong, people will direct it towards LeBron James. And Dwight Howard did the same.
“D-Lo went to the Nets. What’s going on Lakers? LeGM made the decision. LeGM said it’s enough D-Lo. They traded D-Lo for Finney-Smith? Let me be the GM. They just be doing anything,” Howard said in one of his recent social media lives.
However, while making speculations, the former NBA star missed an important factor in the trade. D’Angelo Russell’s performance has been really underwhelming this season. He was averaging only 12.4 points and struggling to find his shooting rhythm. On the other side of the deal, they got Dorian Finney-Smith and Shake Milton. If we sum it up, the Lakers are going for a well-balanced roster rather than retaining a long-time player.
Social Media In Frenzy Over Dwight Howard’s LeBron James Speculation
While most of the fans were siding with Howard in his narrative, some did not mince words in reminding him of LeBron’s contribution during his time.
“He’s not wrong,” a fan wrote.
“Dwight Howard knows how it works,” another fan reacted.
“Dlo keeps getting cooked lmfaoo,” another user added.
“Was it LeGM or Rob cuz when it was you who got sent away it didn’t seem like you thought it was LeGM,” a fan quipped.
“Lakers make 1 move in 2 years and say that’s all on LeBron, if Bron was GM that sh*t woulda happened a longggggg time ago,” said another one.
With the addition of Finney-Smith and Milton is just the first step, and it leaves room for Pelinka to explore further trades without sacrificing future picks. The Lakers are shooting for the stars and hoping to build a strong contender around LeBron. Be it this way or the other, the Lakers will attract a lot of attention the coming season.
