Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan are reportedly doing King together.

As per a recent report, Shah Rukh Khan might be playing a parallel lead to his daughter Suhana Khan in King.

After teaming up with talents such as Vidya Balan and Amitabh Bachchan, filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh is now at the helm of a significant casting feat for his upcoming film. Sujoy Ghosh is collaborating with Siddharth Anand and his production company, Marflix Pictures (known for producing Fighter), on a project titled ‘King.’ Initially, Shah Rukh Khan, also known as King Khan, was set to appear in a prominent cameo role. However, recent developments indicate that he will instead serve a leading role alongside his daughter, Suhana Khan.

Suhana Khan, who debuted in film with ‘The Archies’ in 2023, is set to make her first theatrical appearance in this eagerly awaited film alongside her famed father. According to a recent article by Peeping Moon, Shah Rukh Khan, who had initially been slated for a special appearance, has now been cast as the primary lead in this action-packed movie, with Suhana Khan stepping into a major role as well.

A source reportedly shared insights on how the film’s direction shifted, noting, “The SRK-Suhana film has undergone multiple rewrites and polishing in the past few months. The project was earlier intended to be a mega theatrical debut vehicle for Suhana, with SRK merely playing a cameo, much like he did in Alia Bhatt’s Dear Zindagi. But the script has now been altered, turning it into a proper Shah Rukh Khan film, with Suhana playing a parallel lead alongside him.”

Additionally, it’s revealed that Shah Rukh Khan will not portray Suhana’s father in the film but will instead act as her mentor. His character is described as a formidable figure who rescues Suhana’s character from perilous predicaments she frequently encounters.

As for the movie ‘King,’ Sujoy Ghosh and Siddharth Anand are set to begin pre-production in May, with the filming expected to start around August or September. The release is planned for the latter half of 2025, though a specific date has yet to be announced.

A source close to the entertainment portal Bollywood Hungama has previously shared that ‘King’ is envisioned as a groundbreaking action movie, surpassing all expectations. The creative team has devoted the past year to meticulous pre-production planning, focusing on script development, the film’s scale, and its action sequences.
