Fans eagerly waiting for the third season of Bigg Boss OTT might have to wait longer. Reports suggest that the digital version of the show won’t return this year due to concerns about oversaturation. Despite rumours of a May 15 release, sources indicate otherwise. The makers are considering skipping this year’s season to avoid viewer fatigue, as per a report by The Indian Express. However, no official confirmation has been given by Banijay Asia, Colors TV or Jio Cinema, regarding the same.

Bigg Boss has been a household name since its TV debut in 2006, with Salman Khan as its host since 2010. In 2021, the show expanded to digital platforms with Bigg Boss OTT, hosted by Karan Johar, where actor Divya Agarwal emerged as the winner. Salman returned to host the second season, which crowned YouTuber Elvish Yadav as the winner. Both seasons were streamed round-the-clock, in addition to daily one-hour episodes on Voot for Season 1 and Jio Cinema for Season 2.
Bigg Boss OTT 2 made stars out of many contestants like Pooja Bhatt, Jiya Shankar, Manisha Rani, Elvish Yadav, and Abhishek Malhan. The third season was rumoured to feature names like Sheezan Khan, Arhaan Behll, Shehzada Dhami, Pratiksha Honmukhe, Dalljiet Kaur, Maxtern, Sriram Chandra, and Dhanashree Verma.
There were reports that Vicky Jain was approached for the third season of Bigg Boss OTT. As reported by E-Times, the makers of Bigg Boss OTT had approached Ankita Lokhande’s husband for the third season of the controversial reality show. Reportedly, while Ankita was not asked for the show, her husband had considered the offer.
Last year, Elvish Yadav won Bigg Boss OTT 2, beating contestants like Abhishek Malhan, Pooja Bhatt, Manisha Rani and Bebika Dhurve. He entered as a wild card contestant and became one of the top contenders for the trophy. Elvish also became the first wildcard contestant in the history of the show to take the trophy home.
