Filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar has shared a long working relationship with Salman Khan as he has worked with the star in films like Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai and Bharat. Ali, whose latest release Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, is currently in theatres, shared that him and Akshay Kumar actually sought permission from Salman to release their film on Eid. Salman Khan usually releases his films on Eid and has been doing the same for many years now.

Ali said that Salman is “an industry in himself” and said, “I don’t think you become small if you ask for permissions, especially if it is Salman, he is so senior to us. So I called him, Akshay sir called him and asked him if he was planning to bring any film this Eid because if he was planning, we will not put that release day out. He said, ‘it is not my date, if you feel, you go ahead, you don’t need to ask me’. That’s Salman, he doesn’t feel that it’s his date. But I wanted to ask him. When the trailer came out (he wrote about it), I feel he is the most secure person.”
