A former NBA star with a net worth of $70 million as of the beginning of 2023 is in some trouble over multiple missed car payments.
Court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com show that JPMorgan Chase Bank has filed a lawsuit against Paul Pierce as they claim he stopped making monthly payments on his 2019 Range Rover in December 2021.
The suit, which has been filed in a Los Angeles Superior Court, notes that the Celtics legend owed a principal balance of $91,459 on the vehicle and agreed to pay $3,445.28 on a monthly basis yet has stopped doing so.
It’s reported that Pierce was served at his residence in Woodland Hills, California on November 4 and has refused to surrender the vehicle despite demands from Chase. The lawsuit is seeking an order to have the former player hand the car over immediately.
Pierce has found himself in some other financial messes as of late. He agreed to a settlement with the SEC that should see him pay $1.4 million after unlawfully promoting crypto securities while withholding the amount he received to be part of the promotion.
Another lawsuit from last year outlines a poker debt of $180,000 plus interest.
This all comes in the wake of Pierce’s firing from ESPN over a video that he posted of himself having a good time with adult entertainers in 2021.
The 46-year-old amassed millions over the course of a 19-year NBA career during which he helped the Celtics win a championship. He is considered to be one of the greatest Boston players of the modern era.
