Patrick Kane Achieves NHL History Against Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals

Detroit Red Wings forward and a former Chicago Blackhawks legend Patrick Kane recorded his 1,300th NHL point on Sunday against red-hot Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals.
Kane sniped home a rocket of a shot against goaltender Charlie Lindgren in the first period to earn his 1,299th NHL point, assisted by fellow former-Blackhawk Erik Gustafsson.
Kane then followed up with an assist on another former Blackhawks point, this time an Alex DeBrincat goal was scored on by a showtime pass.
Kane is only the 38th player in NHL history to achieve the 1,300-point mark, he now stands only 74 points away from legend Mike Modano, for the second-most points amongst U.S born players in the NHL.
It’s now very much in favor for Kane to return to Chicago, playing beside Connor Bedard on the Blackhawks top-line, and achieving NHL history next season.
The 36-year old showtime shows zero signs of slowing down, racking up five goals and nine assists so far this season prior to the game against the Washington Capitals on Sunday.
Kane’s in his final year of a deal signed by the Red Wings, with an annual average of $4M.
As a three-time Stanley Cup Champion with the Chicago Blackhawks, many wonder where Kane’s next destination could be… back in Chicago for his final year, or a possible childhood dream of playing for his hometown team, the Buffalo Sabres?
A decision will be needed soon, as Detroit’s far away from a playoff spot, sitting eighth in the Atlantic Division with a 13-18-4 record through 35 games so far this season. They’ve also fired their head coach, in hopes for a spark- but that has not done much so far.
Where do you think Kane will end up?
