Priyanka Chopra recently shared that she won’t be attending the Met Gala 2024. She revealed the real reason behind giving the annual fundraising event a miss.

After making a name for herself in Bollywood, Priyanka Chopra ventured into Hollywood with the thriller series, Quantico, and has stunned millions of people around the world with her impeccable acting stints. Apart from being a phenomenal actress, Priyanka is also known for her fashion picks, whose glimpses we often get through her social media accounts. She even made her first official appearance with her now-husband, Nick Jonas, on the Met Gala red-carpet in 2017.

Priyanka Chopra will not be attending Met Gala 2024

However, in an interview with Access Hollywood, Priyanka confirmed that she won’t be attending the Met Gala 2024. The actress revealed that she will be filming during that time, so she will miss the gala. When the interviewer asked about her thoughts on the themes of the event and if there is someone whose fashion she is looking forward to. Priyanka said:

“I don’t even know who’s going this year. I’m definitely not attending this year because I’m filming, but I think I really do enjoy watching people’s creativity during the Met Gala and I am really excited to see how it will turn out. I actually have not read anything about who all is going this year.”

Further in the interaction, Priyanka questioned the interviewer if she knew who had confirmed their participation in this year’s Met Gala. The interviewer said that she knew that the popular American actress Zendaya would be attending the event. Priyanka then said that she would be looking forward to seeing Zendaya on the red carpet.

The theme of Met Gala 2024

This year’s Met Gala theme is ‘The Garden of Time’ and will be held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on May 6, 2024. The event will be co-chaired by Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny and Chris Hemsworth. The 2024 gala will also mark the opening of the Costume Institute’s exhibition titled Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.

Priyanka is currently filming her upcoming movie, Heads Of State, alongside Idris Elba and John Cena. She also has Citadel Season 2 in her kitty.
