Penn State football star Chop Robinson wanted to make sure when people said his name, it was done so in a good light.
He certainly made that happen at Thursday’s combine.
Robinson wanted to go fast at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine. He did that.
The Penn State edge rusher and draft prospect was an early standout behind an official 4.48-second 40-yard dash.
The 6-foot-2, 254-pound pass rusher also topped the charts in the broad jump (10 feet, 8 inches) while putting up a great number in the vertical jump (34.5 inches).
NFL Network’s Rich Eisen soon reported Robinson was the second player in the last 20 years to run a sub 4.5 in the 40 and have a 10.5-foot broad jump after weighing in over 250 pounds.
A Maryland transfer, Robinson recorded 10 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks during his first season with Penn State. This past season, Robinson had 7.5 tackles for loss and four sacks. He missed three games after suffering a head injury in a loss to Ohio State in November.
He has been ranked No. 25 on the latest Big Board by ESPN NFL Draft Insider Mel Kiper Jr.
