Parineeti Chopra herself has come forward to debunk all the rumours suggesting that she is pregnant, while also criticising media organisations for spreading baseless stories about her.

Surviving in the Indian film industry, controlled by men, presents significant hurdles for female actors. These challenges are exacerbated if they get married. Post marriage, conversations tend to revolve solely around their personal lives, often sidelining their professional accomplishments and talents. Moreover, their everyday life and fashion choices too undergo intense scrutiny, often resulting in baseless pregnancy rumours. Unfortunately, Parineeti Chopra, a few days ago, joined the ranks of female actors who have faced such treatment.

Recently, rumours began circulating that Parineeti is pregnant after she was spotted wearing a kaftan dress at a trailer launch event. Despite the absence of any evidence or statement from the actor, numerous news organisations too published speculative articles, albeit with question marks in their headlines, thus perpetuating the rumour mill.

Now, Parineeti herself has come forward to debunk all the rumours, while also criticising media outlets for spreading baseless stories about her. Sharing a video on Instagram, in which she can be seen wearing fitted clothes, she jokingly noted, “Entering my fitted clothes era 😂”. The video begins with her sporting a white bodysuit, trousers and a blazer, with the words “Wearing well-fitted clothes today, because when I tried a kaftan dress…” appearing on the screen.

The video then switches to the image of Parineeti in the kaftan dress, accompanied by headlines suggesting that she’s pregnant. It then cuts back to her current look, where her demeanour appears disappointed.

A few days earlier, the actor had taken to her Instagram Stories to emphasize that her choice of clothing should not be misconstrued as a sign of pregnancy. She wrote a note on her story that read “Kaftan dress = pregnancy, oversized shirt = pregnancy, Comfy Indian Kurta = pregnancy,” with a laughing-out-loud emoji

At the trailer launch of her upcoming movie Amar Singh Chamkila, Parineeti Chopra opted for a kaftan dress, looking stunning in all black. After the event, she changed into an oversized white shirt and black pants, sparking further pregnancy rumours due to her fashion choices.
