Nora Fatehi On Humbe Beginnings In Bollywood: ‘Came With Only 5000 Rupees, Lived With 9 Psychopaths In One Apartment’

Nora Fatehi has it all: the looks, multiple talents, the big films and of course, loads of money. But, when she was just starting out in Bollywood, the dancer-actress had to go through a few years of intense struggle that has left a long ‘traumatising’ impact on her.
“I came to India with only ₹5,000 in my pocket. I lived with nine psychopaths in a three-BHK apartment, where everyone was sharing. I used to think, ‘What have I got myself into?’ I was not prepared for that at all. I am still traumatised,” revealed Nora fatehi during a recent interview with a media house.

Nora Fatehi on her struggle days, exploitation by agencies: 'I lived with nine psychopaths. I am still traumatised, needed therapy'

She then went on to talk about the exploitative nature of some of the agencies in showbiz. Adding, “What used to happen was that the agency would make money out of you. They cut the pocket money, they pay the rent from that, they cut their commission, the air you breathe, and then they give you jo reh gaya (whatever is left) which is nothing. So we were on a diet of like one egg, nutella and bread and milk every day. It was really bad. Some of these agencies they exploit people so badly. We don’t have laws and regulations for these things. I am serious I need therapy for that time. It was a rough time.”

For the uninitiated, Nora Fatehi entered Bollywood with Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans. Some of item numbers include SakiDilbar, among others. She also featured in hit Bollywood movies like Street Dancer 3DBhuj: The Pride of India, and the recently released OTT venture Crakk.
