Bollywood Badshah, Shah Rukh Khan is ruling over the box office with his latest release Jawan. It may seem like every actor, young and old, wants to be cast with the star. However, it wasn’t too long ago when many actors turned down an opportunity to feature alongside SRK. From Jawan beauty Nayanthara previously turning down an appearance in Chennai Xpress, to Aamir Khan opting out of a cameo appearance in Om Shanti Om, here’s a list of actors who turned down roles opposite SRK.

Nayanthara is winning hearts for her leading role in Jawan, opposite Shah Rukh Khan. But, did you know that the actress had opted out of another SRK-led film? According to reports, Nayanthara was asked to appear in the dance number 1234 from ‘Chennai Express’, but she rejected the offer because at that time she was looking for a lead role in a female-centric movie. The other reason to reject the role was because the song was choreographed by Raju Sundaram and at that time, the actress had just ended her relationship with Prabhu Deva who is Raju’s brother.Chennai Express went on to be one of the biggest hit of SRK’s career.

Ameesha Patel revealed in an interview with ETimes, that she was forced to turn down offers of films like Chalte Chalte starring Shah Rukh Khan, Munna Bhai MBBS starring Sanjay Dutt, and Tere Naam starring Salman Khan, because of date issues. When asked if she regretted turning down the parts she said, “There were lots of films I couldn’t do. I turned them down because of date issues so I couldn’t regret it.”

Sridevi made her last big-screen appearance in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Zero’ in a special song sequence. But, did you know that she previously turned down an acting role with the superstar? Apparently, the makers of ‘Darr’ wanted Sridevi to play the female lead, however, the actress turned down the part as it was a kind of role she had done several times in the past.

Did you know Aamir Khan once turned down a special appearance in Shah Rukh Khan’s movie? Director Farah han revealed that she desperately wanted Mr Perfectionist to be a part of her song sequence in Om Shanti Om, but he told her a while lie to wriggle his way out of the commitment. In 2019, the director said, “I wanted Aamir in it. I wanted one shot to have the three Khans together. Aamir drove me crazy for 10 days. He couldn’t make it because he was editing Taare Zameen Par.”
Farah then went on to add that four years later, Aamir confessed that he didn’t want to do the song.

Karisma Kapoor rejected many blockbuster films in her career, and one of them was opposite Shah Rukh Khan titled ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’. Although her reason for turning down the role in the iconic film is still a mystery, she is not the only actress who rejected the part. It has been reported that stars from Twinkle Khanna to Urmila Matondkar, Tabu and Raveena Tandon all declined this offer.
