Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid’s wife Lauren Kyle shared a video montage recapping “the best year yet” on Instagram. Lauren and Connor tied the knot in July and their wedding was a lavish affair with many of the three-time NHL MVP’s teammates and their partners in attendance.
Lauren has shared some of the most memorable moments of their relationship on social media. On Monday, a collection of short video clips gave fans a glimpse into the exciting year she has had. The newlyweds have a starring role in the reel and their closest friends and family were also part of it. Lenard, the bernedoodle Connor and Lauren adopted in 2019, also made a special appearance.
“2024 you were the best year yet,” Lauren captioned.
A lot of NHL players and their partners are taking to social media to mark the end of 2024, recounting the best memories and experiences of their year.
Lauren, an interior decorator, and Connor started dating in 2016 during the Edmonton Oilers star’s rookie season. Eight years on, and their relationship has only grown stronger. The upbeat tone and catchy audio in the recent post made it clear that the couple is in a great place and excited to share the rest of their lives together.
They have celebrated birthdays, accomplishments and career milestones together and shared their lives with fans, friends and family. Lauren was also featured in her close friend and Oilers’ star Leon Draisaitl’s fiancee Celeste Desjardins’ recent post on Instagram. Celeste posted a carousel of her best moments from 2024, with one of the high points from Lauren and Connor’s wedding.

The newlyweds took advantage of the NHL holiday break to spend Christmas with their closest friends and family. On Friday, Lauren posted pictures of their first Christmas as a married couple from Newmarket, Ontario, where McDavid’s parents Brian and Kelly live.
“A very merry Christmas!! Happy holidays everyone!” Lauren captioned.
Her post included pictures with the family, scenes from Christmas dinner and an impromptu family hockey game on a frozen pond. It offered a touching and wholesome glimpse into their lives and proved to be a hit among their friends and families.
