Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid’s wife Lauren Kyle was among the many people who voiced their concern for those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires. On Tuesday, wildfires in Pacific Palisades, LA, rapidly spread across Southern California, burning over 27,000 acres and forcing more than 150,000 residents to evacuate.
The fire has resulted in at least five casualties and caused widespread destruction, and Lauren reposted a reel depicting an attempt to evacuate horses from the fire.
“So heartbreaking”, Lauren wrote with a broken heart emoji.

The original post was shared by the Instagram account of World Animal News which addressed how the Los Angeles wildfires are causing terrible suffering for animals.
“Thinking about the devastating impact of the wildfires in Los Angeles on all animals—wild, domesticated, and farmed—is truly heartbreaking. 🙏💔 Countless lives have been affected—animals losing their homes, their food sources, and tragically, their lives,” the post was captioned.
“So many are caught in the chaos, fleeing in fear with nowhere safe to go, while countless people work tirelessly to rescue and care for them. The toll on both animals and humans is beyond words, and the scale of the loss is overwhelming. 🥺💔”
Earlier, NHL legend Valeri Bure’s wife Candace Cameron Bure and their daughter Natasha had pleaded for prayers for those in areas that were affected. Candace was close to the Pacific Palisades on Tuesday, just hours after the area caught fire, and she even captured the devastation on her Instagram stories.
Oilers’ Evander Kane’s fiancee sent her prayers to those affected by wildfires
Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane’s fiancee Mara Teigen had also expressed deep sorrow and concern regarding the wildfires in Southern California. Mara reposted a series of stories to raise awareness and share important updates on her Instagram on Wednesday.
Mara sent her prayers to those affected. She also shared information about Pierce College offering open stalls for horses being evacuated to inform those who might need them.
“My heart is broken. Praying for everyone affected by these ongoing fires in Southern California 😔,” Mara wrote in one of the stories.

In one of her final stories, Mara shared a few old tweets from 2019 by current President-elect Donald Trump. In the tweets, Trump can be seen criticizing California Governor Gavin Newsom and addressing the need for better forest management and government action to prevent wildfires.
