Shohei Ohtani has achieved more than what he was expected to do in Dodger Blue. The Japanese star won the World Series in his first season and set the standards high. Ohtani quickly became an MLB superstar, and the Dodgers are bound to make his journey even better.
After signing with the Dodgers, Ohtani helped bring in a dozen Japanese partners and $70 million in sponsorship revenue. The league benefited from the Dodgers star in several aspects.
The mighty Shohei Ohtani increased sales by 16 percent and helped the league benefit up to $300 million in new sponsorships. A recent report by Sponsor United shows that Ohtani was the driving force to bring in $70 million in incremental sponsorship. Ohtani brings huge value to the Dodgers and the league on and off the field.
“Every time he played an away game, if you look at any backstop, you see Japanese brands that are advertising with the Orioles, the Yankees, or whoever he’s playing,” Sports United’s Bob Lynch said. The two-way star turned things around when he agreed to sign a 10-year deal with the Dodgers.
Shohei Ohtani’s Pitching Schedule Will Be Delayed In 2025
The Dodgers already have top pitchers on their team, but fans are desperately waiting for Ohtani to start pitcher. Ohtani planned to pitch at the start of the season, but the team has delayed his pitching schedule.
Ohtani has recovered from his UCL surgery. Yet, the Dodgers do not want to risk their All-Star player by sending him to the mound immediately. Ohtani is the most valuable player in the team’s starting rotation. The Dodgers need him to help the team offensively. Not to forget, his 50-50 season is what helped them reach the World Series.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts hopes Shohei Ohtani will start pitching in May. The team will probably want their best player to pitch first in Dodger Stadium. The good news is that Ohtani will pitch one way or the other in 2025. MLB fans are eagerly waiting for him to get on the mound.
