Kiran Rao spoke about why it was important for her and Aamir Khan to make their divorce public and the reason behind choosing to protect their son Azad from limelight

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan and his ex-wife Kiran Rao made headlines with their divorce announcement. However, they remained friends and have been committed to co-parent their son Azad. In a recent interview, the filmmaker spoke about why it was important for them to make their divorce public and the reason behind choosing to protect Azad from limelight.

Speaking to NDTV, Kiran shed light on the rationale behind their public disclosure. She said, “It was a conscious decision because in some ways, we do realise that…You know you are in the public gaze. You are living your life very publicly. What we were doing was completely legal, morally and ethically fine. It’s better to be upfront about it and not let people guess about it.”
