Kareena Kapoor talks about Ram Leela
This was not the first time that Kareena missed an opportunity to work with Bhansali. She had once called the director out for removing her from Devdas.
Kareena Kapoor Khan has been basking under the success of her recently released film Crew. The comedy drama was loved by fans. Well, recently in an interview with BBC Asian Network, the actress opened up on walking out of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram Leela. Yes, you are reading right. Kareena was part of the project but she left and Deepika Padukone then came on board.
Talking to the portal, Kareena said, “I believe in destiny, and I believe that whatever is meant to be in your life will happen, through anything. All is written in the stars and everything is not written for everyone.” Kareena will be seen with Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor in Singham Again. It is a multi-starrer film headlined by Ajay Devgn.
Meanwhile, this was not the first time that Kareena missed an opportunity to work with Bhansali. The actress had once called the director out for removing her from Devdas. Apparently, Kareena was supposed to play Paro, which was eventually played by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the movie. Kareena had revealed that she “was” hurt with Sanjay after he suddenly replaced her despite giving her a signing amount for the movie.
In a 2002 interview with Filmfare, Kareena was asked if she’d ever collaborate with Bhansali considering what happened between them. She said, “I’ll never. What he did to me was wrong. He screen-tested me for Devdas, gave me a signing amount, then took someone else. That was wrong, it hurt especially because I was at the start of my career. It’s okay, because the day he dropped me, I signed Yaadein. Sanjay hurt me. Even if I have no work, I’ll never work with him.”
On the work front, she will be next seen in Toxic with Yash. It has now been claimed that Kareena will play the role of Yash’s sister. It is also claimed that she has a powerful role in the film. If the report is true, this will mark Kareena’s first Kannada film.
