Juan Soto was probably the biggest winner of this MLB offseason. The superstar outfielder agreed to a 15-year, $765 million deal with the New York Mets, the biggest contract in MLB history.

There will undoubtedly be immense pressure on Soto and the rest of the New York Mets to deliver for their fans. Regardless of what he accomplishes with his new club, Soto now finds himself as one of the richest athletes of all-time. While he will be fully in the limelight when the season begins, Soto appears to be thouroughly enjoying his offseason away from the game.

The New York Mets superstar was featured in a photograph shared on Instagram by Dominican singer and songwriter Henry Santos. The singer, who is part of the hit group Aventura, was seen posing with Soto alongside his bandmates, Romeo Santos, Lenny Santos, and Max Santos.

“I have a serious question… How many millions do they calculate here?” the translation of Santos’s caption for his post read.

Aventura is one of the most successful bachata (a genre of music that originated in Latin America) groups. Also known as K.O.B, or the Kings of Bachata, Aventura has been very successful and started performing in the early 90s, a few years before Soto was born.

Juan Soto is not the only Dominican-born MLB star that Henry Santos has shown love to on Instagram. During the 2024 season, the Aventura star posted a video of a trip to Toronto which featured Blue Jays superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in action.

Soto might be enjoying his offseason by spending time with the famous music group, however, the outfielder is going to have to deliver this upcoming season for his new club. Shohei Ohtani signed a $700 million deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers last offseason and expectations immediately soared.

While Shohei Ohtani was able to guide the Los Angeles Dodgers to a World Series title, it may be a tougher road to a championship for Soto and the New York Mets. Not only will he be expected to succeed but he will also need to deal with Yankees fans who will voice their feelings about him after he left the team in free agency.
