New Delhi: The 2022 film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, which stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Aamir Khan, has received a significant amount of media attention. The Hindi version of ‘Forrest Grump’, unfortunately, failed at the box office. Kareena has now spoken publicly about the film’s disastrous box office performance, and in doing so, she recounted her first encounter with Aamir Khan after the movie bombed. She revealed how Aamir Khan seemed ‘apologetic’.
Kareena Kapoor Khan discussed the commercial failure of Laal Singh Chaddha and her encounter with Aamir at a Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) event in a recent interview with Mid-Day.

Kareena recalled, “I saw his face, and I could see how he was looking at me, apologetic and sad, at the same time. Together, we’ve delivered big films (3 Idiots and Talaash). But you know what? It doesn’t matter. I wrote a long letter on WhatsApp to both Aamir and the director (Advait Chandan), telling them that our relationships and talent don’t depend on the outcome of a film.”
While discussing the film’s failure, Kareena said that her performance as Rupa will always be iconic to her. She felt the movie was heartwarming and praised Aamir’s performance, saying he seemed to be immersed in his role.

She went on to explain that the post-COVID-19 pandemic, people were looking for something upbeat and entertaining rather than heavy and sad. This might have contributed to the film’s failure. She said that it was possible that people may prefer to see something lighter in tone and ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ was dark.
The film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ directed by Advait Chandan also stars Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya.
Meanwhile, Kareena Kapoor’s next film project is ‘The Crew’, which also stars Tabu, Kriti Sanon and Diljit Dosanjh.
