Although Justin and Hailey Bieber have both expressed their desire to have children together, there’s something holding the Rhode Skin founder back.
In a new interview with The Sunday Times, the 26-year-old model got candid about one reason she’s afraid to expand their family. “I literally cry about this all the time,” she said, per People. “I want kids so bad but I get scared. It’s enough that people say things about my husband or my friends. I can’t imagine having to confront people saying things about a child.”
Hailey continued, “We can only do the best we can to raise them. As long as they feel loved and safe.”
“This isn’t what I stand for,” Selena wrote on Instagram Stories at the time. “No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I’ve always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop.”
Though the women are now Instagram mutuals, plenty of people are still leaving nasty comments on the model’s social media posts. In April, Hailey described that period of time as “some of the saddest, hardest moments” of her adult life. “I like to make jokes about how I feel because sometimes it’s easier than admitting I’m having a hard time,” she wrote on Instagram Stories, adding, “My mind and emotions have been fragile to say the least.”
During her interview with The Sunday Times, Hailey specifically referenced the response to her ministroke in March 2022. “The day after I was hospitalised, it was on the internet,” she said, per People. “I wanted to talk about what happened in my own words because so many people were making assumptions.”
