Emmy award nominee Chris Williamson took a jab at Charleston White after the social media personality expressed his controversial views on Brittney Griner and Angel Reese on the “Club 520 Podcast.”
On the Dec. 24 episode of the said podcast, Jeff Teague and the panel members discussed the WNBA and the big names involved with the league.
However, the panel’s opinions expressed in that episode have received much criticism. Among those opinions were White’s statements on Brittney Griner and Angel Reese. An Emmy-nominated Sportscaster, Chris Williamson stepped up and called out Charleston for his remarks on X.
“And it wasn’t just the blatant disrespect for Angel either. We peeped that trifling crap they said about Brittney Griner too. Talmbout, ‘Yeah, I wished her a*s stayed in that Russian jail’ cuz of that pool pic. Whole bunch of pathetic excuses for men,” Williamson posted.
Charleston had jokingly remarked that Brittney Griner should have remained in the Russian prison. He made the joke after the panel discussed the infamous pool party incident where the Mercury star allegedly removed her shirt.
“I was hoping they kept her in the Russian jail,” Charleston had said.
Last year, Brittney Griner got into major trouble as she was imprisoned in Russia. The US government had to accept a prisoner swap to get the Mercury star her freedom back. As for Reese, Charleston did not hold back and asked her to start an OnlyF*ns account.
“I still think she (Angel Reese) needs to do OnlyF*ns like Shaq said. She dunking up p**ties.”
Sydney Colson calls out Charleston White for his ‘sexist’ remark on Angel Reese
Sydney Colson was among the many famous personalities who called out Charleston White for his remarks on Angel Reese. The two-time NBA champion reposted the clip featuring White’s statement and expressed her opinion in the caption of her repost.
“Havin an ignorant a*s sexist on and then actually dropping the episode and then wanting to collab with the W is craaazy work lmao,” Colson captioned.
White made his remarks in context to the infamous Shaquille O’Neal-Angel Reese incident. On the Oct. 25 episode of the “Unapologetically Angel” podcast, the Chicago Sky star invited the NBA legend on her show.
During one segment of the show, Shaq suggested that Reese should try dunking in shorts while on camera.
This incident brought a fair share of negative criticism towards the ‘Inside the NBA’ host and four-time NBA champ.
