Ace filmmaker Karan Johar has carved a niche for himself in Bollywood. He has been a part of the film industry for decades now and has given audiences some iconic films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, among others. But did you know that apart from being a director, producer and even actor in some movies, KJo also worked as a costume designer in some of these blockbusters? Needless to say, Karan Johar is a man of many talents. He turned a costume designer for his close friend and actor Shah Rukh Khan in movies such as Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Duplicate, Dil To Pagal Hai and the Yash Chopra directorial Veer Zaara.

Recently, KJo re-watched the SRK, Preity Zinta and Rani Mukerji starrer romantic drama film Veer Zaara and was overwhelmed to see his name on the credits in the Yash Chopra film. Karan shared a screengrab of the credits of the film on his Instagram story and remembered Yash Chopra. Sharing his thoughts, he wrote, “Was watching #veerzaara and remembered Yash uncle so much…saw my credits as a designer for @iamsrk And felt so excited to be a credit in a Yash Chopra film. So many memories @manishmalhotra05.”

Helmed by Yash Chopra, Veer Zaara was released in 2004 and also starred Manoj Bajpayee, Divya Dutta and Anupam Kher in pivotal roles. The film is among the most-loved Hindi films ever made in Bollywood.

Veer Zaara is a cross-border love story that follows the life of two distant lovers Veer (played by SRK) and Zaara (played by Preity). The Indian Air Force Officer Squadron Leader Veer Pratap Singh was put behind bars for 22 years and after a long wait, Human Rights Lawyer Saamiya Siddiqui (played by Rani) fights his case. He eventually gets freed and united with his lover.

The hit film still remains a fan-favourite even after almost 20 years of its release. Veer Zaara is also known for its soulful songs like Main Yahaan Hoon, Aisa Des Hai Mera, Tere Liye and Do Pal.

On the work front, KJo last directed the romantic flick Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani which starred Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. He is yet to announce his next directorial project.
