“The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes has been teasing about finishing his story by becoming the World Champion in WWE. Last year Cody Rhodes came so close to finishing his story, but the Bloodline interference shattered his dreams. Cody then fell apart from the story and had a lot of hindrances, however managed to fight back.
Cody with the dream in his eyes, won the Royal Rumble back to back and again is set to challenge Roman Reigns after a high-drama. This year, Cody Rhodes should have to work so hard, as he will be wrestling two matches on both nights of WrestleMania.
The Tag Team match on Night 1, where Cody Rhodes teaming with Seth Rollins will be facing Roman Reigns & The Rock. This match determines the stipulation for Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns’ Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match stipulations. As everything is built to the Night 2 main event, WWE has planned for a promotional video between the two, which has some interesting details.
Cody Rhodes to be an Underdog
Dave Meltzer on the recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, reported that WWE has been planning to make a promotional video for WrestleMania 40. The report states that the company’s script is in the way where Cody Rhodes is to be pushed as an Rocky style underdog tied up to the city of Philadelphia.
Dave Meltzer in his report says,
“There is a script for a Reigns vs. Rhodes promotional video to build up WrestleMania, which tied Rhodes into Philadelphia, with the concept being here in Philadelphia we know the American Dream and we know the American Nightmare, we know good times and hard times and that being an underdog isn’t something to be feared, it’s something to be embraced.
One person got a script for a VO and noted that Rhodes in the script is going to be pushed as a Philadelphia style Rocky underdog.”
