Fans slammed Chloë Bailey after she announced that her next single, “How Does it Feel,” will feature controversial singer Chris Brown.
On Thursday, the “Have Mercy” songstress, 24, shared an image of her and the “Under the Influence” crooner, 33, embracing for the cover of the new song, which is set to be released on streaming platforms next Friday.
“2ND PIECE. HOW DOES IT FEEL @chrisbrown. 2/24 🫀,” she captioned the image on Twitter.

Bailey was immediately met with backlash from fans who questioned why she would collaborate with someone who has been accused of violence against women several times.
“We’re failing Black women in music if they feel like they have to collaborate with a known abuser in order to chart,” one critic tweeted.
“watch people defend her collaborating w/ him while claiming that his history of violence against women was a one time thing that he grew from despite the fact that his track record goes back from 2009 to 2022. in 2019 & 2022 he was accused of sexual assault by 2 different women,” another added.
One follower used one telling adjective to describe Brown: “Disgusting.”
“Was really looking forward to the album after pray it away but now Chloe you can honestly f–k right off. Beyonce really fumbled with this one,” a third wrote.
“chlöe there’s still time to delete this we will pretend like we didn’t see this there’s still time,” a fourth person begged.
On the other hand, some fans defended Bailey’s decision to enlist Brown for the record.

Fans questioned why Bailey would collaborate with Brown, who has a history of violence against women.
“Chris Brown is the GOAT everyone that’s crying your tears taste amazing. Move on!” one supporter tweeted, while another added, “People are super bitter in the comments 😂 do your thing, girl!”
“Social media and it’s [sic] selective outrage is exhausting. Anywho, I truly hope this song is fire Chlöe….for someone of your talent and gift, you really deserve the top spot. Can’t wait!” a third advocate wrote.

Brown has been in legal trouble since he plead guilty to one count of felony assault for beating then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
Since Brown plead guilty to one count of felony assault for beating then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, he has found himself in a heap of legal trouble.
In 2017, the “No Guidance” singer’s ex Karrueche Tran was granted a five-year restraining order against him for allegedly becoming aggressive towards her when she wouldn’t return money and gifts he gave during their relationship.
