Giannis belongs to an elite group.
Despite the rollercoaster ride that has been the Milwaukee Bucks’ season, superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo continues to be a dominant and unstoppable force. Despite facing numerous challenges, including coaching and player changes, Giannis has put his head down and focused on his game, leading the Bucks to the third-best record in the Eastern Conference.
In recognition of his accomplishments this season, CBS Sports has ranked Giannis Antetokounmpo third on its list of the league’s top 25 players. This comes as no surprise, considering the impressive numbers he has put up this season.
Unrelenting force
Giannis is posting 30.8 points on an incredible 61 percent shooting, 11.2 rebounds, and a career-high 6.4 assists per game. Add to those 1.4 steals and 1.2 blocks per game, and it’s clear that Giannis is an all-around dominant force on the court.
But what sets him apart from other players in the league? It’s his relentlessness. Giannis never takes a playoff, be it the preseason, the regular season, and more so in the NBA Playoffs. He attacks the basket with ferocity, using his incredible length and athleticism to get past defenders and finish at the rim with ease.
“Antetokounmpo’s wrecking-ball force is absolutely unrelenting. His .616 shooting percentage is the best of his career. He leads the league in total points,” Brad Botkin wrote.
Going to have to take the reins of the Bucks
All season long, Giannis has asserted that the Bucks are now Damian Lillard’s team. With “Dame Time’s” supreme scoring skills and clutch performances, it’s hard to disagree. However, if Milwaukee is to come away with a second title in the last four seasons, Antetokounmpo will have to take the driver’s seat and bring the Bucks to the finish line.
“It cannot be disputed that he is the single-most terrifying transition scorer and overall physical force in the basketball world,” Botkin emphasized.
