Former NFL quarterback Cam Newton and comedian girlfriend Jasmin Brown welcomed their baby on Wednesday, ten days after Newton’s involvement in a brawl in Georgia.
After giving birth, Brown took to social media to joke about having to wear diapers when all she wants is to ‘wear a thong’. As Brown cracked jokes, the newborn could be heard babbling in the background – which she used for comedic purposes.
‘Real question, how long do we have to wear this diaper? This s**t is annoying,’ she joked. ‘I wanna wear a thong.’
‘You don’t want me to wear a thong,’ Brown asked the baby in the second slide. ‘You want me to wear a diaper ’cause you have on a diaper? Okay, we’ll be diaper twins.’
Brown, who has been dating Newton since 2021, announced the pregnancy in October and went on a US tour while pregnant. Although this is their first child as a pair, Newton has seven other children. Five were from his relationship with Kia Proctor and two with La Reina Shaw.

On January 25, Newton was involved in brawl with opposing coaches at a young football event
The birth of their child came just over a week after the former NFL MVP was involved in a brawl during a youth football event.
On February 25, Newton was filmed fighting off several men during a 7-on-7 tournament at the Coretta Scott King Young Women’s Leadership Academy in Georgia. Moments later, clips of the incident circulated all over social media.
It was later revealed that the men involved were opposing coaches TJ and Steph Brown. In an interview with Fox News, TJ revealed that Newton began a verbal exchange that turned physical when Steph approached him after the game.
‘If you’re walking up a flight of stairs, and you see a 6’6″ guy grab your little brother trying to throw him down some stairs, you’re going to intervene,’ TJ said.
‘It doesn’t matter who you are, rather it be a punch, rather it be a push, rather it be grabbing him. You’re going to do something. So, at that point, with Cam putting his hands on another grown man, something is going to come behind that.’

Newton joined the New England Patriots in 2020 before heading back to Carolina for a year
On March 1, Newton addressed the situation’s inexcusable nature on the 4th &1 podcast.
‘There’s no excuse,’ Newton said. ‘It’s really not, ’cause it could’ve been a melee, more violence could’ve stemmed from that and it’s just not called for.
‘And on top of that, it’s echoing something that’s been permeating for years – black people. Why it gotta be at a black event? You know what I’m saying? And I can easily play the victim and I’m not going to do that.’
Neither Newton nor the Browns wanted to press charges after the altercation.
