For years now, Caitlin Clark has been projected to be a superstar at the highest levels of women’s basketball. Recently, the reigning Rookie of the Year revealed just how early on in life she became a sought-after talent.
On Wednesday, Clark sat down with Jason and Travis Kelce on their “New Heights” podcast. Among the things brought up was her journey to becoming one of the top young stars in the WNBA.
During the interview, Caitlin Clark confirmed that she first started getting recruited by colleges in the seventh grade.
“I feel very fortunate,” Clark said. “My parents told my older brother go get the mail we don’t want your sister to see that. They wanted me to be in seventh grade and enjoy middle school and hangout with your friends. You shouldn’t be worried about where your going to college.”
As everyone knows, Caitlin Clark would eventually make the decision to play in college at Iowa. She’d go on to break numerous records there before eventually becoming the No. 1 pick in the WNBA Draft.
While colleges started sending stuff that early on, Clark never let herself get caught up in all the hype. She went on to praise her parents a lot for keeping her grounded and allowing her to not be zeroed in on her future at all times.
Caitlin Clark was highly requested guest on “New Heights” podcast
Before snippets from the episode started circling online, the Kelce brothers did a good job hyping up Caitlin Clark’s appearance. In their teaser, the former Philadelphia Eagles center revealed an impressive fact regarding their show.
Clark is now one of the many notable figuers who has taken the time to sit down and talk with Jason and Travis. When they first revealed the episode, they only posted a siloutte to let fans speculate on who it could be.
After letting fans stir, the show posted a clip of Caitlin Clark on Wednesday morning for the big reveal. During the intro, Jason stated that the Indiana Fever guard was the most requested guest in the history of the show.
Popping up on “New Heights” is Clark’s lastest feat as she continues to become one of the biggest mainstream stars in sports today. Not only will this benefit her, but the steady growth of the WNBA as well. The Kelce brothers have a massive audience, giving Clark a big stage to further promote the league and all its talent.
