The Josh Giddey saga has taken a surprising new twist following allegations claiming the Oklahoma City Thunder shooting guard had a relationship with a minor.

According to TMZ, the girl is refusing to speak to police while her parents are also being uncooperative.

Per the source:

“Law enforcement sources tell us police would obviously like to speak with the purported female and those close to her to gather more information regarding the social media claims that made rounds over the weekend … but as of right now, no one is talking.

“It’s a significant component to the whole situation as a lack of cooperation will make it much more challenging for officials to determine whether any laws were broken.”

The allegations stem from photos and videos of Josh and a young girl together. One of the snaps shows them topless, with the caption reading: “just Fd Josh Giddey.”

The female is said to be 15 years old but her age hasn’t been verified, which is what the authorities are trying to do. The NBA is also looking into the matter but he remains eligible to play as he hasn’t been found to have broken any laws at the moment.

“Available to play. Will play. No change in status from a basketball standpoint. Still, I have no comment on anything else,” head coach Mark Daigneault told reporters after the allegations came out last week.

“I get the question, guys. I completely understand you guys want to know about it, but just for right now, I don’t have anything to say,” Giddey added.

The Australian was drafted by the Thunder as the sixth-overall pick of the 2021 NBA Draft. He is averaging 12.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game while shooting 43.1 percent from the field and 29 percent from three.
