Washington Capitals prospect Cam Allen has been charged with drunk driving, in addition to fleeing the scene and failing to report the accident.
The London Police issued a press release detailing the charges, saying that the accident happened on Saturday around 3:20 a.m. when a citizen called police to report a single-vehicle collision where there was allegedly blood on the driver’s side door and leading away from the vehicle.

Police found Allen, who plays for the OHL’s London Knights, not far from the scene after locating the vehicle, and one passenger was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
Allen, 20, was charged with impaired operation of a conveyance impaired operation exceeding blood alcohol concentration, failure to remain at the scene, failure to report the accident and novice driver with a blood alcohol concentration above zero.
The Knights said in a statement they are aware of the charges against Allen, who was released from custody and will appear in court on March 6 while awaiting discipline from the league.
“The team takes this matter very seriously and are in the process of gathering all relevant information,” the team wrote. “We have been in contact with the OHL and will handle this in accordance with both league and team conduct policies. Disciplinary action will be determined by the OHL.”
Allen is under contract with the Capitals organization after signing his entry-level deal this summer. The 2023 fifth-round selection has 42 points in 45 games this season between the Knights and Guelph Storm this season.
