Boosie Badazz and Webbie took the world by storm as a duo in the 2000s, and now they’re ready to do it again.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday (November 26), Boosie shared a new photo with his partner in rhyme and revealed that they’re planning a new joint album.

“BADAZZ N SAVAGE ALBUM OTW WE BOUT TO COOK UP THE ALBUM [up and fire emojis],” he wrote. “BOOK BOOSIE N WEBBIE YOU GO WIN @torencehatchig @webbietrill”

Webbie got his start in 2001 when he appeared on Boosie’s For My Thugz album on the track, “Gotta Get It.” The pair then collaborated often, including the joint projects Ghetto Stories in 2003 and Gangsta Musik in 2004. Most notably, the pair had a top 10 single in 2007 with “Independent.”

Upon Boosie’s release from prison in 2014, they collaborated again a few more times, but in 2020, their relationship became strained.

In an interview with The Shade Room that year, Webbie’s manager Derrick explained what exactly led to their rift.

“Webbie don’t really give a fuck,” he said. “N-ggas get in their feelings and take shit out of proportion. Boosie and Webbie, they gon’ always be. It’s like peanut butter and jelly. Boosie went to jail, and Webbie was out here workin’. Webbie’s loyalty will always be Trill Entertainment.

“That’s what Webbie was talkin’ about. He’s a big person on loyalty. That’s all I know, and the legacy is what he’s talking about. It ain’t about no money. He’s been making money for years. It’s about the legacy.”

Derrick was responding to a rant Boosie had gone on days earlier, where he accused Webbie of missing several scheduled performances. He claimed when he did show up, he’d cut his set short – something Derrick also discussed.

“Everybody over at Bad Azz know, they know who to get at, when it’s business time,” he said. “We had a couple of shows, but it was never no phone call to management to make shit go how it’s supposed to go. When you pay Webbie less than what he’s worth, you should only expect three songs. If he felt like you gave him $7,000 and he wanna do three songs for that, then that’s what it is.”

Boosie appeared to feel most offended Webbie didn’t visit him while he was locked up, but Derrick provided a reasonable explanation.

“Some people felt some way about Webbie didn’t go to the jail house, but who wants to go to the jail house?” he asked. “Who wanna go there? That don’t make you fake cuz you didn’t go to the jail house. Boosie went to jail and they lost Bleek. They lost Phat. Who wanna see that? Lost Pimp C? Who wanna see that? He was reaching out as a brother. Like, where the fuck all these nigga was?”

Eventually, they worked things out and just this past September, Boosie declared himself and Webbie as the best duo out.

“THE BEST DUO TO EVER DO IT @mamaheliveagain2.0@webbietrill [fire emoji],” he wrote with a photo of them, topping the declaration with a series of bold exclamation points.
