Recently, in a disturbing incident, two masked men fired gunshots in front of actor Salman Khan’s home in Bandra. In the aftermath of the incident, Arbaaz Khan has stepped forward to address the public on behalf of his family. The actor spoke about the same through an Instagram post and dismissed rumors circulating in the media.
Salman Khan’s brother, Arbaaz Khan, released an official statement expressing the Khan family’s distress over the incident. He stated, “The recent incident of firing…is very disturbing and unnerving. Our family has been taken aback by this shocking incident.”
The statement also addressed misleading claims made by alleged family insiders. These suggested that the incident was a publicity stunt and that the Khan family remained unaffected. Arbaaz Khan openly denied these allegations and labeled them as “loose statements” that should not be given any value.
Furthermore, the statement emphasized the Khan family’s commitment to assisting the police investigation. “At this time the family is helping and cooperating with the police in the investigation of this untoward incident,” affirmed Arbaaz Khan, highlighting their cooperation with law enforcement authorities.
Salman Khan gunfire incident: What happened?
The incident occurred early in the morning on Sunday at around 4:55 am. The CCTV footage saw two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle firing multiple rounds outside Salman Khan’s residence, Galaxy Apartments in Bandra. While no injuries were reported as the bullets were fired into the air, the incident prompted swift action from authorities.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde assured Salman Khan and his family of increased security measures. Additionally, the Mumbai Police immediately launched a thorough investigation. An FIR has been registered under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Arms Act. Authorities are endeavoring to identify and apprehend the culprits as soon as possible. Mumbai Police is examining CCTV footage and initiating forensic examination at the scene.
Despite the unsettling nature of the incident, the Khan family expressed their faith in the Mumbai Police’s ability to ensure their safety. They have extended their gratitude to the public for the immense love and support they have received during this challenging time.
Who were behind Salman Khan gunfire incident?
The assailants are believed to be from notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. The gangster has been targeting Salman Khan for quite some time, according to the National Investigation Agency. In 1998, Salman Khan faced accusations of hunting blackbucks, an act that deeply offended the Bishnoi community, who revere these animals as sacred. This incident further triggered longstanding resentment within the community towards the actor.
This incident also follows previous threats against Salman Khan, including a death threat from Canada-based fugitive gangster Goldy Brar last year. Salman Khan now travels with an elaborate security team and was granted Y+ security following these threats. Despite the challenges, Salman Khan remains firm. In an interview, he stated, “I am going everywhere with full security… I believe that (refers to God) that he is there.”
As investigations continue, the Mumbai Police Crime Branch is expected to take over the case, with efforts focused on identifying those involved in the incident. The safety and security of Salman Khan and his family remain paramount as authorities work diligently to ensure justice is served.
