Though it marked the return of Aamir Khan after a gap of four years, director Advait Chandan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, a remake of the 1994 American film Forrest Gump, bombed at the box office. While the film’s cast and crew were disappointed, a devastated Aamir took the bulk of the blame on himself. Meanwhile, the actor-producer recently opened up about the film’s failure and said that he “made so many mistakes”. In a chat with ABP News, Aamir also emphasised that he received “a lot of love after the flop”.

Mentioning that Laal Singh Chaddha remains close to his heart, Aamir said, “Advait, Kareena and the whole cast and crew worked hard and it didn’t do well. Two things happened, after a long time my film didn’t work, so family and friends would come home to ask me if I’m doing okay. I realised that I’m getting a lot of love after a flop. That was the funny side of it. The serious side is, failure teaches you where you’ve made mistakes. It gives you an opportunity to understand what those mistakes were.”
