After the end of the 2024 season, one prominent name in the Los Angeles Dodgers team that was in the spotlight due to free agency was Teoscar Hernandez. As the season ended, Hernandez, who signed a one-year deal with the LA Dodgers last year on Jan. 12, 2024, became a free agent.
Teoscar Hernandez and the Dodgers have finally reached an agreement and he will be staying with them. As per MLB.com, on Dec. 27 Hernandez signed a three-year $66,000,000 deal with the Dodgers.
On Friday, Shohei Ohtani took to his Instagram handle to share his excitement over the news. Ohtani shared an IG story that featured a post from MLB’s official Instagram account where they announced that Teoscar Hernandez will be staying with the Dodgers.

The Dodgers won their eighth World Series title, second in four years, by defeating the Yankees in 2024. The Dodgers faced a 32-year championship drought, which they ended when they won the World Series in 2020.
Teoscar Hernandez had a career-best season with the Dodgers before becoming a free agent. He played 154 games in his first season, slashing .272/.339/.501. He had 99 RBIs with 33 home runs, while stealing 12 bases.
Meanwhile, Shohei Ohtani, in his first season with the Dodgers, played 159 games. He slahed .310/.390/.646 with 130 RBIs. Ohtani became the first-ever player in the MLB to have 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in a single season. Ohtani hit 54 homers and stole 59 bases in the 2024 season.
