Yusei Kikuchi and Yu Darvish
Former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Yusei Kikuchi and Yu Darvish had an unforgettable moment together. Darvish took to his social media account to post a couple of images of him and Kikuchi. Both pitchers had a great time partying and enjoyed some Hibiki.
Kikuchi is a jovial pitcher who makes the best of each moment. Last year, Darvish and Kikuchi spent some time drinking, and Kikuchi certainly enjoyed himself. Kikuchi and his wife Rumi were on vacation when Darvish met them. From seeing the images, it definitely turned out to be an unforgettable night.
“I had dinner with the Kikuchi couple while they were on vacation at the end of last year. We had a lively and fun time together with both families in the house we rented Kikuchi drank most of the Hibiki that he brought with him, and eventually passed out drunk. He couldn’t find an Uber to take us home, so he ended up staying the night,” Darvish wrote on X.
It’s unlikely for a player to post such images of other players on social media. However, Darvish had got permission from the former Blue Jays star before posting them online.
Here’s an image of Yusei Kikuchi passed out on the floor during his time with Darvish.
Toronto Blue Jays Continue To Pursue Free Agent Pitchers This Offseason
Toronto was expected to go big this offseason, but they have yet to make significant changes to their starting rotation. While they were interested in signing Juan Soto and a few other stars, nothing broke through as predicted.
The franchise is still looking for free-agent pitchers but has shifted its focus to Jack Flaherty. The former Dodgers star has been a free agent for a long time, and Toronto would make perfect sense. Flaherty won the World Series with the Dodgers but has played for four teams in the last two seasons.
Flaherty is waiting for the right opportunity to sign before the 2025 regular season. Despite several rumors, the Blue Jays might stand a chance to bring him home. The team needs more pitching arms, but they need to be quick to secure a deal. MLB rumors continue to swirl around free agent players this offseason.
