The highly anticipated matchup between the Edmonton Oilers and Boston Bruins on Tuesday took a physical turn during the second period when Bruins forward Trent Frederic and Oilers veteran Corey Perry dropped the gloves for a ferocious fight.

The incident unfolded at the 10:37 mark of the middle frame, with the Oilers holding a 1-0 lead. Frederic initiated the altercation, pushing Perry, who initially showed reluctance to engage.

What followed was a flurry of heavy right-handed blows from Frederic on Perry. The Oilers forward struggled to gain his footing, falling to the ice as the officials stepped in to separate the combatants.

The aftermath of the fight left Frederic’s right hand knuckles bloodied. Frederic was assessed roughing and fighting penalties, while Corey Perry received a fighting penalty.
